How to Use Your Own Face Reference
The source image defines the scene and target pose. The custom reference supplies facial identity cues. Treat both as important inputs rather than interchangeable uploads.
Prepare the Source Image
Choose the photo whose composition, body, and scene you want to preserve. Keep the target face large enough to read and avoid severe occlusion.
Upload a Permitted Reference Face
Use a clear image of the face you want the model to reference. Confirm you have the right and consent to process it, especially for private individuals and minors.
Compare the Blend with Both Inputs
Review whether the result respects the source pose without creating strange eyes, mouth edges, hair, skin tone, or identity ambiguity. Regenerate only with meaningfully improved inputs.

What Makes a Better Custom Face Reference
A custom face changer has less corrective work when the reference is compatible with the source. Perfect matching is not required, but extreme differences increase uncertainty.
Similar Head Angle
A front-facing source generally pairs better with a front-facing reference. Large profile differences can distort eyes, nose, and jaw placement.
Comparable Lighting
Match bright versus dim scenes and the general direction of highlights and shadows to reduce pasted-on appearance.
Natural Resolution
Use a genuine high-resolution image rather than an enlarged thumbnail. Artificial enlargement cannot restore missing facial detail.
Responsible customization
