AI video face swap is currently available as a 0-credit trial in faceswap. As of October 18, 2026, video generation, failed-task retries, and individual scene redos do not deduct credits. You still need to sign in, upload an MP4, and assign portraits before generation. The current trial does not promise permanent or unlimited free rendering.
The video face swap workspace shows the current notice before you submit. Our video tool uses character motion transfer: it can change clothing, body details, and backgrounds as well as facial appearance. Choose it when you want to recreate movement with your portraits, and review the full result.
What is free, and what uses credits?
Photo and video generation have separate rules. Having enough credits for a photo does not tell you how a future video task will be priced.
| Action | Current charge | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Generate a video during the trial | 0 credits | The trial notice on the video page |
| Retry a failed video task | 0 credits during the trial | Resolve input errors before retrying |
| Redo one generated video scene | 0 credits during the trial | Review the replacement clip and merged result |
| Keep a scene as original footage | Excluded from the proposed generated-duration estimate | The scene must be marked Keep original |
| Generate a still-photo face swap | 4 credits per result | Your photo credit balance |
New accounts receive 4 starter credits after sign-in, valid for one year. That currently covers one photo generation. It is separate from the video trial. For still images, the two-photo face swap tutorial explains the target photo and portrait reference.
Why does the video tool show a credit estimate?
The page displays a proposed rate of 1 credit per generated second, while the actual trial charge remains 0. The estimate helps you understand how the selected scenes affect duration. It is not an active deduction or a guaranteed future tariff.
Add the durations of the scenes selected for generation, then round the total up once. Scenes kept as original footage are excluded. For example:
| Scene | Duration | Choice | Included in estimate |
|---|---|---|---|
| Opening title | 3 seconds | Keep original | 0 seconds |
| Solo performance | 4.2 seconds | Generate | 4.2 seconds |
| Second solo shot | 5.1 seconds | Generate | 5.1 seconds |
| Crowd shot | 6 seconds | Keep original | 0 seconds |
The complete example is 18.3 seconds long. Its generated duration is 9.3 seconds, so the proposed estimate is 10 credits. The current trial charge is still 0 credits. This is an illustrative calculation, not a sample output or a billing record. Check the notice again before starting future tasks; paid pricing will be announced before charging begins.
Prepare a small first test
Use a standard MP4 up to 100 MB and portrait files in JPG, PNG, or WebP up to 10 MB each. Start with a short solo performance in which the face stays visible. A larger upload limit does not mean every long or complex video will generate successfully.
The service does not let you select a particular person inside a group shot. It also does not make a complete dance video from a portrait alone: the reference MP4 supplies the movement. Use footage and portraits you have permission to process.
After upload, wait for scene analysis. Add a portrait to the library, select a scene on the timeline, and apply the portrait to it. You can apply the same portrait to selected scenes or all scenes marked for generation. Choose Keep original for titles, scenery, or difficult shots. Before generating, wait for assignments to save and check that no generated scene is missing a portrait.

Does a free trial mean instant video generation?
No. Scene analysis, queueing, GPU generation, and merging still take time. There is no fixed completion-time guarantee. Website loading speed and rendering time are different measurements: a responsive workspace can still display a queued video task.
Watch the task status instead of repeatedly submitting new jobs. When a result is ready, review scene transitions, head turns, hands, and the retained source audio. Redo a scene only when you have identified what needs another attempt. The workflow preserves the source audio track; it does not compose music or replace a singing voice.
What should I check before starting?
- The tool still shows that trial generation deducts 0 credits.
- Your file is a real MP4, within the displayed size limit.
- Every scene selected for generation has a saved portrait.
- Difficult group scenes are kept as originals or excluded from your source edit.
- You understand that motion transfer may alter more than the face.
