Daily visual challenge

Can you spot the face swap artifact?

Inspect one synthetic portrait, identify the weakest edit, and sharpen the visual checks you can use before sharing an AI image.

Case #20668UTC 2026-08-03
Inspection frame / 01Fictional subject

Select the suspicious area in the image, or use the region buttons. You have three attempts.

01

Scan the boundaries

Start with hair, ears, and the jaw. These transitions combine fine detail, occlusion, and changing light, so weak masks often show there first.

02

Compare paired features

Eyes and cheeks should share the same focus, lighting, and texture. Asymmetry is normal; inconsistent image physics is the warning sign.

03

Check context, not identity

A visual artifact is only one clue. Confirm the source and context, disclose synthetic edits, and never use a game score as proof about a person.

Practice with intention

Create, inspect, then disclose.

Try the face swap editor with images you have permission to use. Review the result at full size before downloading or sharing it.
